Film Screenings
Lou's latest movie, Transparency was screened at the Dallas International Film Festival 16th April.
The long awaited Horror movie,
The Invited was also screened at the Sacramento International Film Festival.
Both movies are scheduled for a DVD release later this year.
Stargate Returns
Stargate Universe returns in the U.S with the second part of Season 1, starting April 2nd and in the U.K April 13th.
MARCH
Lou guest starred in the season six finale of "Numb3rs" in the episode Cause and Effect.
This marks Lou's ninth appearance in the show as Agent Ian Edgerton.

This month sees an exclusive question and answers session conducted by the LDPBLVD owner Lindsay Holmes. Lou was kind enough to answer questions on his life and career over the past seven years since the previous interview he gave with the site.

Charity Poker Tournament
On Saturday, February 6th, Sin City’s premier property will host a $1,000 + $70 straddle no-limit hold’em charity poker tournament benefiting the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Master of ceremonies will be Michael Godard, a modern artist who dedicates himself to philanthropic causes through his work. Half of the prize pool will go to charity, the other half will be distributed, along with valuable prizes, to winners.
Celebrities taking part include Lou Diamond Phillips, Nancy Cartwright, Robert Iler, April Scott, Jesse Metcalfe, Nicholas Gonzalez, Shaun Sipos, Dennis Haskins, Cheryl Hines and more.

Stargate Universe released on DVD
Stargate Universe Season 1 will be released on two-disc Blu-ray and three-disc DVD on February 9th in the U.S from MGM Home Entertainment. Featuring the first 10 episodes of the series, fans will have the opportunity to relive their favourite moments before all-new episodes air in the spring. The series is also scheduled for release in the U.K June 28th.
Transparency wraps up
Filming has completed on the independent action thriller feature, Transparency. It is due for a DVD release later this year.

OCTOBER-NOVEMBER
Numb3rs Ultimatum to air
Lou makes a return to Numb3rs during it's sixth season. The episode titled Ultimatum will air on November 13th and will mark his seventh appearance in the show as Agent Ian Edgerton.
In the episode, Edgerton is in the middle of a case where he is tracking down a criminal in charge of a heroin ring inside a prison but he unexpectedly turns into the murder suspect when the informant he meets with winds up dead.
Transparency, Lou's Latest Project
Lou is currently linked with action/thriller Transparency, a film wrote and directed by Raul Inglis, and scheduled for release in Spring 2010. Lou takes the leading role as David, who's life has been a nightmare. Five years ago his daughter had been raped and brutalized by an unknown assailant. The emotional damage cost him his marriage. In trying to move on, David finds work as a security guard but during a routine security inspection, David finds a trafficked girl from Russia. She had been brought into the country against her will to be used in a prostitution ring. As he uncovers more about the people he works for, David must find a way to save the girl and get out alive.
AUGUST-SEPTEMBER
Stargate Season One Begins
The season one premiere of Stargate Universe will air in the U.S October 2nd, and October 6th in the U.K. The show will debut with a two hour episode and follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians who find they need to fend for themselves when they are forced through a
Stargate to an unknown address because of an attack on their base. Lou has a recurring role as the high ranking Colonel Telford and will appear in at least seven episodes.
In the show, Telford is chosen to lead the Icarus team through the 9th chevron gate address. He is a career Air Force man with strong values, proudly in command of his superior’s respect and attention. He is the best man for the mission and no one is more aware of that than himself. He and Colonel Young have a rocky past, and while stationed on Icarus together tried to stay out of each other’s way.
Big Bear Lake International Film Festival
The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival (BBLIFF) announced that Lou will be presented with the Acting Award of Excellence at the 2009 Film Festival held on the weekend of September 18-20th. He will be recognized for his work at an Awards Presentation held at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center on Friday, Sept. 18. Awards presentations will immediately follow the Gala Reception.
Wharf Rat on DVD
The Wharf Rat will be released on DVD in the U.K November 23rd. Two brothers live on the opposite sides of the law. One a cop, the other working the waterfront as a crooked businessman. When the policeman is mysteriously murdered, the crook becomes spurred to vengeance and joins forces with a journalist to nail the dirty cops who ordered the hit.
Angel And The Badman comes to DVD
Angel And The Badman is to be released on DVD in the U.S, October 27th. This John Wayne remake tells the story of a notorious gunfighter, Quirt Evans (Lou Diamond Phillips), who is wounded and seeks shelter with a Quaker family. Attracted to the family's beautiful, loving, and widowed daughter Temperance (Deborah Kara Unger), the hard-bitten gunfighter is transformed from a man with a history of violence into a man of peace. Unfortunately, the leader of the outlaws, Laredo (Luke Perry), won't let his past die..
JULY
Lou Plays WSOP
Lou will be competing in the 40th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). It will be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will run from May 27th to July 15th.
King Of The Jungle!
Lou Diamond Phillips has won 2009's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, beating competing contestants, Torrie Wilson and John Salley. After being crowned King of the Jungle, Lou said: "This experience is head and shoulders and far to the left of anything I've ever done. No movie set ever compared to this - this is the real deal and it's been an amazing trip."
For winning the show, Phillips receives the majority of the prize money for his chosen charity, the Art Has Heart Foundation, which helps disadvantaged children to receive arts tuition.
JUNE
Vote For Lou!
The premiere episode of I'm Celebrity Get Me Out of Here began on NBC on June 1st in America. Lou's chosen charity for competing in the show is the Art Has Heart foundation.
Highlights of the first episode saw Lou eat a tarantula and become team leader for the week. As leader Lou will always eat, and he gets to designate chores to everyone. Fans in the UK will get a chance to watch all the action from June 8th on ITV2.

MAY
The Angel And The Badman on Hallmark
The Angel And The Badman will have its World Premiere Sunday, July 5th on the Hallmark Channel. For the 1947 remake Luke Perry joins Lou alongside John Wayne's grandson Brendan Wayne.
Phillips plays Quirt Evens, a gunslinger who is found injured and taken care of by a violence free Quaker family. While healing and teaching the family to defend themselves, Evans finds himself pondering his violent lifestyle and falling for a young Quaker woman. He is forced to return to violence while defending the family from his bloodthirsty rival, Loredo.
Fundraiser for Autism
Autism Care and Treatment (ACT-Today!) will host its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Monday, May 18th, 2009 at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, California. The tournament benefits children with autism.
Along with guest Lou Diamond Phillips, participants include corporate sponsors, community leaders, parents of children with autism, and supporters of autism awareness.
I 'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
It has been announced that Lou Diamond Phillips has joined the cast of the upcoming celebrity reality show, I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, which will be raising money for charity. The show will begin 1st June on NBC.
Lou makes Numb3rs appearance
Lou will star in the season 5 finale of Numb3rs titled Angels and Devils which will air May 15th on CBS (U.S.A).
When Amita is abducted by the leader of a cult, it will take Don, Charlie, the whole team, and even some outside in the form of Ian Edgerton to get her home safely.
A Reading of Dillinger
The York Theater Company's Developmental Reading Series will have a free reading of the new musical Dillinger: Public Enemy Number One, May 7th. Directed by Michael Unger, the 3 PM reading boasts the talents of stage and screen star Lou Diamond Phillips in the title role as well as Natalie Bradshaw, E. Clayton Cornelious, Jason Griffith, Jimmy Ludwig, Darren Matthias, Brooke Sunny Moriber, Eric William Morris, Jennifer Prescott and Megan Sikora.The reading will be presented at the York's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's on 54th Street. Love Takes Wing DVD Release
Love Takes Wing will be released on DVD on May 5th in America. The Hallmark drama that stars and was directed by Lou, also features his four daughters and his wife Yvonne in minor roles. Click here to watch an interview in which Lou talks about working on the film.

Fight against Lyme Disease Fundraiser
Lou has joined the fight against Lyme Disease and offered to help raise awareness for the disease at Time For Lyme’s bi-annual gala fundraiser, The Dream – Creating a Lyme Free World, on April 18, 2009.

Stargate Universe
Lou has been cast in Stargate Universe and will play Colonel Telford, a lifelong military man and the chosen leader of the ill-fated expedition. It is not yet known if he will be a permanent member of SGU’s cast, which already boasts the star power of Scottish film actor Robert Carlyle, or if he’ll be a recurring or one-off guest star. The series is aiming for an October premiere in America.

Birthday Wishes
Lou will celebrate his 47th birthday on Febuary 17th. Also, as a special note, the Lou Diamond Phillips BLVD website will also celebrate being online for 10 years in June 2009.
Hallmark Channel to Premier 'Love Takes Wing'
The Hallmark Channel will be screen Love Takes Wing on Saturday, April 4 (9/8c). Lou co-stars and directs the seventh entry into the film series based on the hugely popular Love Comes Softly novels by Janette Oke.
The story revolves around a town devastated by an illness.
Guest appearance on A&E's The Beast
Lou will soon guest on an upcoming episode of Patrick Swayze's new A&E drama The Beast, playing a character called Capone, a figure with a bloody past and connections to a gang. The episode, airing Feb. 26 at 10 pm/ET, revolves around the death of a Chicago police officer.
Che: part two cinema release
The second of a two part drama about the revolutionary life and times of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara will be released in UK cinemas on Febuary 20th. Lou has a brief appearance as head of the communist party, Mario Monje.
DECEMBER
Remake of John Wayne movie Angel and the Badman
The Production Company Nasser Group North has just completed filming of a remake of the 1947 John Wayne classic “Angel and the Badman”. The film stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Debra Unger, Luke Perry and also features John Wayne’s Grandson, Brandon Wayne.
NOVEMBER
Lou joins 'Carny' cast
Lou has joined the Sci Fi Channel TV movie "Carny" from Muse Entertainment and Brava Pictures to shoot in Ottawa. He will play a small-town sheriff up against a revengeful beast that escapes from a visiting carnival sideshow.
"It's a horror film, it's a lot of fun and my kids are going to love this. They loved one of my earlier films, Bats -- a 1999 film about killer bats -- and I find this a bit reminiscent of that," he says. The film wraps up production on Nov. 23. and is expected to be broadcast next year. |
